Maricopa County, AZ – Detectives with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Animal Crimes Unit, alongside members of the MASH division, seized three horses on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, after discovering signs of neglect and lack of care.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, two of the seized animals were miniature horses showing visible signs of poor condition. The animals were taken into custody for immediate veterinary evaluation and treatment and are now under MCSO’s care and supervision.

Authorities have not yet released information regarding any potential suspects or charges in the case. The investigation remains active as MCSO works to determine the conditions that led to the horses’ neglect.
