Manteno Sees Spike in Property Crime: ‘Out-of-Town Suspects’ Blamed

Manteno, IL – Authorities in Manteno have reported a rise in property crime and suspicious activity, attributing the incidents to individuals not from the local area.

According to the Village of Manteno and the Manteno Police Department, residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to the police by calling 9-1-1 for emergencies or 815-933-3324 for non-emergencies. The community is advised to lock doors, secure valuables, and turn on exterior lights at night to deter criminal activity.

Additionally, the village is offering rebates for the installation of security cameras to enhance neighborhood safety.
