Manteno Principal resigns following ‘lewd activity’ arrest at Kankakee River State Park

MANTENO, IL – Manteno High School Principal  Rodger Schnitzler has tendered his resignation following an arrest at Kankakee River State Park last week.

According to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the incident happened last Thursday when an undercover detail at the park responded to what has been described as allegations of “lewd activities” on park grounds.  

Schnitzler, 55, was identified as one of those arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and aggravated assault.

A representative from the Manteno School District has confirmed the arrest, along with the principal’s resignation Tuesday.
