Manteno, IL – A car stolen from a dealership in Manteno early Friday was recovered after a crash in Crete later that morning.
According to Manteno police, a white Chevrolet Camaro was reported missing when an officer found a garage door open during a business check at the dealership just after 2 a.m. Shortly after, Momence police reported pursuing a white Camaro and a black sedan, but both vehicles escaped before 4 a.m.
Manteno police were later informed that the stolen Camaro had been involved in an accident in Crete, where police took the suspect into custody. No further details, including the suspect’s identity, have been released.
