Manchester, NH – A single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 293 on Thursday afternoon led to the hospitalization of one local resident.
According to State Troopers from the Troop B barracks in Bedford, the incident occurred at 2:35 p.m. on I-293 southbound at the Brown Avenue overpass. The Manchester Fire Department and EMS responded to the scene, finding Alexandria Ellis, 53, of Manchester, trapped inside her silver 2004 Ford Explorer. Firefighters extricated Ellis, who was then transported to Elliot Hospital with minor injuries.
The southbound lanes were closed for about 20 minutes as the Manchester Fire Department worked to free the driver. The right lane remained closed for two hours for fencing repairs by the Department of Transportation. Preliminary investigations suggest a mechanical issue may have caused the crash.
