Manchester, N.H. – A driver was taken into custody after a pursuit on Interstate 293, prompting multiple criminal charges and a scheduled court arraignment.

According to New Hampshire State Police, the incident began around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, when Troop B troopers attempted a traffic stop on I-293 northbound for lane control and reckless operation. Authorities said the vehicle had earlier been reported driving dangerously on the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack.

Police identified the vehicle as a black 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe. After troopers activated emergency lights and sirens, the driver allegedly refused to stop and continued at low speeds while exhibiting lane control issues. Troopers initiated a pursuit that lasted about six miles before the vehicle stopped on Eddy Road in Manchester.

The driver and a passenger were taken into custody without further incident. The driver was identified as Anny Arias Gomez, 34, of Manchester.

During the investigation, authorities determined impairment was allegedly a factor. Arias Gomez was charged with reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, disobeying an officer, resisting arrest or detention, aggravated DUI, breach of bail, operating without a valid license, operating after suspension, reckless operation, and speeding.

According to State Police, Arias Gomez was held on preventative detention and scheduled for arraignment Thursday, March 19, at 8 a.m. in Manchester District Court.

The incident caused brief disruptions along I-293 and surrounding roads. Commuters and late-night drivers in the area experienced delays during the response.

This case remains under investigation.
