Palmetto, FL – Holiday shoppers in Manatee County will have an early chance to pick up seasonal poinsettias this weekend as the annual MCSO Poinsettia Sale returns on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Manatee County Jail Farm in Palmetto.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the kickoff event will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a brief closure for lunch from 11 to 11:30 a.m. The sale will take place at the Jail Farm located at 14470 Harlee Road. Shoppers can choose between 6-inch pots for $5 and 8-inch pots for $12. The Sheriff’s Office notes that credit cards, debit cards, and checks are accepted, but cash will not be taken.

Officials said the poinsettias—grown by inmates participating in the Leading Inmates to Future Employment (L.I.F.E.) program—will also be available for weekday purchase beginning next week. Weekday hours will run from 8 to 11 a.m., then again from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. All sales are offered while supplies last.

The L.I.F.E. program focuses on providing inmates with horticulture training and work experience aimed at improving career opportunities after release. The poinsettia sale is one of the program’s largest public fundraisers of the year, with all proceeds reinvested into continued training and support initiatives.

Residents planning to attend Saturday’s kickoff are encouraged to arrive early, as past years have seen strong demand leading into Thanksgiving week.
