Phoenix, AZ – A dangerous heat wave is impacting south-central Arizona, with an excessive heat warning in effect until Monday evening. Temperatures are expected to soar between 104°F and 110°F throughout the weekend, posing a significant health risk to outdoor workers, travelers, and vulnerable residents.

According to the National Weather Service, the warning extends across Phoenix, Scottsdale, and several other cities in Maricopa County, including parts of Arizona Route 51 and the surrounding highways. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours and stay hydrated. Health officials recommend postponing strenuous outdoor activities until cooler times in the morning or evening. Heat stroke becomes a significant risk as temperatures rise.

This weekend will remain sunny, with Saturday’s high forecasted at 106°F and Sunday at 107°F. Clear skies will persist overnight, with lows hovering near 78°F, offering minimal relief from the heat. Temperatures will slightly drop next week, but triple digits are still expected through Wednesday.
