Gaziantep, Turkey – Flights at Gaziantep Airport stopped briefly after pilots reported an unidentified illuminated object in the sky.
Pilots spotted the object around 10 p.m. on Tuesday at 10,000 feet and alerted the control tower. According to local reports, the airport suspended flights for about an hour as a precaution.
Authorities investigated but found no radar detection. Officials speculated the object might have been an unauthorized drone. Security teams later determined it could have been flown without permission.
This is not the first time an airport reported a mysterious sighting. In 2006, Chicago O’Hare International Airport workers saw a saucer-shaped object hovering over a gate. The object was not detected on radar and vanished through the clouds.
Flights in Gaziantep resumed at 11 p.m. as no further sightings occurred. Authorities continue monitoring the area for similar incidents.
