Caribou, ME – A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for much of northern and central Maine, with heavy snow, sleet, and strong winds expected from Sunday morning through early Monday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, the storm will bring 13 to 19 inches of snow across Aroostook, Somerset, Piscataquis, and Penobscot Counties, with winds gusting up to 40 mph Sunday night into Monday, causing blowing snow and reduced visibility.
For Central Penobscot, Southern Piscataquis, and Northern Washington Counties, snowfall totals will range between 6 and 12 inches, with a light glaze of iceexpected, making roads even more hazardous.
