Maine Winter Storm Brings Heavy Snow and Hazardous Travel

Caribou, ME – Coastal and central areas of Washington County, as well as southern Piscataquis County, are under a Winter Storm Warning as heavy snow continues to impact the region.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), snowfall in Coastal and Central Washington County is expected to add 4 to 6 inches of accumulation through 7 p.m. Tuesday. In southern Piscataquis County, additional snowfall of up to 3 inches is forecast, with the warning in that area expiring at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The storm is creating hazardous road conditions, which may significantly affect both morning and evening commutes. Residents are advised to exercise caution while traveling and prepare emergency supplies, including flashlights, food, and water, in their vehicles in case of delays.
