Caribou, Maine – Clouds and a light southerly breeze set the tone across northern and Downeast Maine Saturday, with highs climbing into the upper 60s north and near 70 along the coast. Saturday night will be cooler but not as chilly as recent nights, with lows dropping into the 40s.
According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, a cold front may trigger a few spotty showers across northern Aroostook County on Sunday. Most of the state, however, will remain partly cloudy with highs in the upper 60s north to the low and mid-70s Downeast.
Monday turns brighter, with widespread sunshine pushing temperatures into the low to mid-70s. From Bangor to Presque Isle, dry conditions will dominate much of the week. The warmest stretch arrives Tuesday through Thursday, when highs will reach well into the 70s across most of Maine.
Travel impacts remain minimal this weekend, but residents in northern towns such as Fort Kent and Madawaska should keep an umbrella handy on Sunday. The rest of the state can plan for outdoor activities with little weather disruption.
Dry weather is expected to hold firm into late week, though forecasters caution that additional advisories may be issued if conditions change.
