Caribou, ME – Scattered showers and cloudy skies will dominate northern Maine today, with temperatures reaching a high near 43 degrees. Residents should prepare for occasional rain this afternoon and gusty winds later this week.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, scattered showers will begin around 11 a.m. today and last through the evening. Overnight, the low will dip to 35 degrees, with northwest winds increasing to 15 mph and gusts reaching 28 mph. Travelers along Route 1 and surrounding roads should anticipate reduced visibility during showers and exercise caution.

Tuesday will bring mostly dry conditions, though overcast skies will persist. Highs will climb to 45 degrees, with gusty northwest winds up to 29 mph making it feel cooler. The evening will remain cloudy with a low of 39 degrees, offering a brief respite before rain moves back in later in the week.

By Thursday, rain is expected to develop late in the day, intensifying Thursday night into Friday. Temperatures will hover around 46 degrees Thursday, with a more substantial system bringing widespread rain Friday and into the weekend. Weekend highs will remain near 47 degrees, but rain could taper off by Sunday afternoon.

Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor items due to gusty conditions and monitor updates for potential changes to the late-week forecast.
