Caribou, ME – Maine residents should brace for a noticeable drop in temperatures this week, with cooler conditions and rain showers forecasted through Thursday. A cold front is sweeping through the region, leading to much cooler afternoon highs than previously experienced this summer.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, Tuesday’s high temperatures are expected to remain in the low 60s, with mainly cloudy skies and an 80% chance of showers. Overnight, the temperature is set to drop into the low 50s, with continued chances of rain.

The cooler trend is expected to persist through midweek. Wednesday and Thursday will see similarly unseasonable conditions, with highs only reaching the low 60s. Showers are likely on both days, and there is a slight chance of thunderstorms on Thursday afternoon.

Looking ahead to the weekend, conditions will improve. Friday will be drier, with highs climbing back into the low 70s. By Saturday, expect sunny skies and milder temperatures, with highs reaching the upper 70s.
