Thursday will be sunny but frigid, with highs struggling to reach 7°F. The extreme cold will persist into Thursday night, with another round of snow expected Friday. Snowfall will be heaviest in Downeast Maine, with a 50% chance of accumulation throughout the day.
The weekend remains dry but bitterly cold, with lows dipping to -12°F Saturday night. Another storm system could bring more snow and mixed precipitation to the region early next week.
