Caribou, ME – Maine residents should prepare for a mixed bag of spring weather this week, as wet snow and rain target the northern half of the state by Wednesday. Caribou and communities along the I-95 corridor will feel the brunt of the midweek system before brief relief arrives with clearer skies late week.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, light rain will begin late Tuesday and transition to a rain/snow mix by early Wednesday morning. Accumulation will be minimal, but roadways—especially rural routes—may become slick during the morning commute. Wednesday highs will stay near 44°F with gusty southwest winds up to 22 mph.

By Thursday, partly sunny skies and a high near 46°F will offer a brief spring reprieve. Winds will remain gusty, and drivers on I-95 and U.S. Route 1 should watch for strong crosswinds through Thursday afternoon.

Friday brings the sun back across the region with calmer conditions and highs near 55°F inland. However, clouds will increase Friday night ahead of another system expected Saturday. Widespread rain returns for Easter weekend, particularly across northern zones. Saturday highs will push into the mid-50s before rain chances reach 90% by nightfall.
