Caribou, ME – A weak low-pressure system developing in the Gulf of Maine tonight may bring a brief round of light snow to parts of Downeast Maine, according to the National Weather Service in Caribou. Any accumulation should remain an inch or less, mainly across coastal Washington County late Sunday night.

According to the National Weather Service, sunshine early Sunday will give way to increasing clouds from south to north, with highs ranging from the mid-30s north to near 40 Downeast. Overnight lows will fall into the low 20s north and upper 20s Downeast, with most areas staying dry except the immediate coastline.

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with temperatures climbing into the upper 30s north and upper 40s Downeast. Another weak weather system is expected to move in on Wednesday, bringing a chance for rain, although the precipitation could begin as light snow over northern areas before transitioning. Highs Wednesday will mostly reach the upper 30s to upper 40s.

Looking ahead to Thanksgiving, a bit of rain is possible early in the day, though most of the holiday should be cloudy to partly sunny with a gusty southwesterly breeze. Temperatures will stay on the cooler side, typical for late November.

Residents across northern and Downeast Maine should expect relatively minor impacts throughout the week, with the main concerns being slick spots from light snow tonight and breezy conditions on Thanksgiving.
