Caribou, ME – A broad area of snow continues to move across northern and central Maine today, with multiple counties under a Winter Weather Advisory through 1 p.m. Monday. According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, advisories remain in effect for Northwest and Northeast Aroostook, Northern Somerset, Northern and Central Piscataquis, Northern Penobscot, and Southeast Aroostook counties. The advisory includes communities such as Fort Kent, Caribou, Houlton, Millinocket, Greenville, Monson, Patten, Clayton Lake, Churchill Dam, and Mount Katahdin.
Snowfall totals will vary by location and elevation:

- Northern Penobscot, Northeast & Southeast Aroostook: 4 to 8 inches, with the highest totals expected west of Route 11.
According to the NWS, roads will likely become snow-covered and slick, with limited visibility in heavier bands. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute, particularly across mountain valleys, forest roads, and long stretches of Route 11 and I-95.
The storm will continue through tonight before tapering to lighter snow Monday morning and afternoon. Areas west of the Allagash region and higher terrain near the Central Highlands may see the most persistent snowfall.
