Caribou, ME – Maine residents will enjoy mild midweek weather before a storm system moves in late Friday, bringing rain and possible wet snow, especially in northern and eastern areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, high pressure will bring clear and tranquil conditions Tuesday night, with lows ranging from 20°F inland to 30°F along the coast. Wednesday and Thursday will remain mostly sunny and mild, with highs reaching the mid-40s north and near 50°F in Downeast Maine.

However, by Friday, a storm system developing off the Mid-Atlantic coast will push rain into the region, primarily affecting Downeast Maine. As the system moves northeast toward Nova Scotia, colder air could transition rain to snow late Friday into early Saturday, leading to potentially messy travel conditions in the north and east.

Some accumulation of wet snow is possible by Saturday morning, but roads should improve by midday as temperatures rise. Sunday will turn partly sunny, breezy, and chilly.

Residents are advised to monitor forecasts and prepare for potential travel disruptions Friday night into Saturday morning.
