Caribou, ME – Scattered showers will continue into Monday across much of Maine, with the heaviest rainfall expected across southern and Downeast areas, according to the National Weather Service in Caribou.
Forecasters say rain will persist through Monday morning, especially from Bangor to Eastport, before tapering off later in the day. High temperatures will range from the upper 40s north to lower 50s south, under cloudy skies.
By Tuesday and Wednesday, conditions will turn drier and cooler, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 50s. Lows in northern Maine will dip below freezing at times, while coastal locations stay in the upper 30s to low 40s.
Looking ahead, the next chance for widespread rain returns late Thursday into Friday, with models suggesting a developing storm system could bring wet conditions for Halloween. The NWS notes there’s still uncertainty in the timing and intensity of the rain, meaning some areas could see dry breaks by Friday evening.
Residents planning outdoor Halloween events should monitor updated forecasts as the week progresses.
This pattern will bring a typical late-October mix — a brief dry stretch midweek followed by another round of unsettled weather heading into the weekend.
