Caribou, ME – Sunny skies are expected across Maine today as high pressure builds into the region, bringing above-normal temperatures before rain chances move in Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, Saturday’s highs will reach the low 70s in the Bangor area, while much of northern Maine will remain in the 60s. Conditions will stay dry and mostly sunny, though clouds are expected to increase this evening as a cold front approaches.
Scattered showers are likely to develop early Sunday across the North Woods and Aroostook County before moving southeast throughout the day. The Bangor region could see highs close to 80 degrees Sunday, but the greatest chance of rainfall remains in northern Maine. Areas farther south and west may only experience drizzle or remain dry.
Looking ahead, forecasters say dry weather will dominate through much of next week, with little chance of rain through Friday. A cooldown is expected by midweek, dropping temperatures closer to seasonal levels.
Residents should plan for a warm, dry Saturday, keep umbrellas handy Sunday, and prepare for cooler conditions later in the week.
