Caribou, Maine – Light rain is expected to return to northern and eastern Maine late Thursday and continue through much of Friday, with some towns facing up to a 70% chance of precipitation before skies clear into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, a slow-moving upper level low will trigger widespread showers starting Thursday evening, with peak rain chances in Frenchville, Caribou, and Millinocket through early Friday. Some areas like Frenchville and Millinocket could see a 70% chance of rain by 6 a.m. Friday.

By Friday evening, rain chances begin tapering off statewide. Bangor and Bar Harbor will see lighter impacts, with only a 20–30% chance of showers. Highs will remain steady in the upper 70s to low 80s Wednesday through Friday, including 82°F in Fort Kent and 81°F in Lincoln.

No flooding or severe weather is expected, but drivers should be cautious of slick roads Friday morning. Residents are advised to delay outdoor work and check local event schedules for possible disruptions.

Rain exits the region by Saturday, giving way to a dry and warm weekend under upper-level ridging.
