Caribou, ME – A mix of sun and clouds will dominate Maine’s weather today, with foggy conditions in the morning and mostly sunny skies by the afternoon. High temperatures will range from the upper 40s to low 50s, bringing mild conditions across much of the state.
According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, a brief period of stratus clouds and fog impacted the Downeast region this morning. As the day progresses, skies will clear, with northern Maine remaining mostly sunny, while the southern part of the state enjoys a bright afternoon. Tonight, fog is expected to develop again, particularly in southern Maine, as low temperatures drop into the 30s.
Looking ahead, rain is forecast to arrive late Thursday, bringing wet conditions that will persist through Friday. By late Friday afternoon, colder air moving in from the north will cause rain to transition into snow in northern Maine. Snow showers are expected to continue into Saturday night and Sunday.
Residents should be prepared for changing conditions as the weekend approaches. Travelers should remain alert for foggy conditions overnight and plan for potential winter weather impacts late in the week.
