Caribou, Maine – Patchy fog and chilly drizzle will linger across northern and eastern Maine through Sunday as low pressure stalls over New Brunswick, keeping skies overcast and roads damp across much of the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, today’s high temperatures will remain in the low to mid-50s, with light rain showers expected in Aroostook and Washington counties. Fog will be most likely along the coast, including Eastport, Bar Harbor, and Ellsworth, especially during the morning hours.

By Sunday night, skies are forecast to partially clear, allowing temperatures to dip into the mid-30s in northwestern areas like Fort Kent and Mt. Katahdin, where patchy frost could pose a risk to sensitive plants and gardens. Most other locations will see lows in the low to mid-40s, including Bangor, Lincoln, and Dover-Foxcroft.

Residents are encouraged to cover outdoor plants and avoid early morning travel in fog-prone areas. Dry and warmer conditions will return Tuesday as high pressure builds in, pushing daytime highs into the 70s by midweek.

Frost advisories could be issued later today for parts of northern Maine. The next chance of rain returns late next week.
