Caribou, ME – A weak low-pressure system will bring rain and snow to northern Maine tonight. Areas in the Downeast region will see mostly rain, while snow will accumulate farther north.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, precipitation will move from southwest to northeast Tuesday evening. In Bangor and along the coast, rain is expected with minimal impact. Northern Maine will see rain changing to snow overnight, with 1–3 inches possible near Fort Kent, Estcourt, and St. Pamphile.

Temperatures will remain above average Wednesday, with a few snow showers possible in the north. Bangor and coastal areas will stay dry. Another system will bring rain and snow chances Thursday, though totals remain uncertain.

Roads could become slick in northern areas overnight, and travelers should prepare for reduced visibility. Drivers should allow extra time Wednesday morning, especially near the Canadian border.
