Caribou, ME – A High Surf Advisory remains in effect along the Maine coast as waves continue to create hazardous conditions through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Caribou. The agency cautions beachgoers and boaters to beware of rogue waves and avoid oceanfront rock outcrops.

The forecast calls for a cold front crossing the region late Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures and only a few isolated showers. Areas inland and across northern Maine could see overnight lows dipping into the 30s, with frost possible in sheltered valleys.

By midweek, conditions are expected to remain cool and mostly dry, with light showers possible Wednesday and Thursday. However, meteorologists expect a warming trend to return Friday through the weekend, offering a brief rebound in temperatures after several chilly nights.

Residents and coastal visitors are urged to stay alert for changing surf conditions and avoid walking near slippery, elevated rocks where waves can unexpectedly surge.
