Caribou, Maine – Heavy rain and gusty winds could disrupt travel across Caribou by Saturday, capping off a damp and foggy Friday across Aroostook County.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, a band of rain will move in Friday between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m., with additional scattered showers expected after 2 p.m. Patchy fog could reduce visibility early, particularly along Route 1 and secondary roads. Winds will gradually increase, shifting southeast by Saturday with gusts up to 25 mph.

Rain is likely to intensify Saturday afternoon and evening, with precipitation chances peaking at 100%. Windy conditions and low cloud ceilings may further reduce visibility, impacting weekend travel and outdoor plans.

Showers will linger into Sunday and Monday, with temperatures cooling into the low 50s by Monday afternoon. Daily rain chances will hover between 60% and 70% through at least Monday night. Drivers are urged to slow down during wet conditions and allow extra time for travel on rural highways and local streets.
