Brunswick, ME – A tractor-trailer transporting frozen crabs overturned early Friday morning on Interstate 295 near Brunswick, causing temporary traffic disruptions but resulting in no injuries.

According to the Maine State Police, the accident occurred around 6:05 a.m. today on the southbound side of I-295 near mile marker 29. Initial reports suggest the driver of the tractor-trailer may have been experiencing fatigue, leading to the vehicle drifting off the right side of the roadway and into a ditch.

Authorities say the driver attempted to steer the rig back onto the interstate, but the maneuver caused the truck to flip onto its passenger side. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, and the driver walked away unharmed.

State troopers were joined at the scene by crews from the Brunswick Police Department, Brunswick Fire and Rescue, the Maine Department of Transportation, and Copp Motors. Efforts to clear the overturned trailer temporarily slowed morning traffic, with motorists advised to avoid the area as crews cleaned up debris.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not yet indicated whether charges will be filed against the driver.
