Caribou, ME – Spring weather in northern Maine remains unpredictable as a mix of rain, snow showers, and gusty winds move into the region Tuesday night. Residents should prepare for slippery roads and low visibility as precipitation increases overnight.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will start with a chance of flurries before 9 a.m., followed by partly cloudy skies and a high near 43°F. Winds from the south will increase to 17 mph, with gusts reaching 30 mph. By the evening, rain and snow showers are expected, with temperatures dropping to around 11°F. Wind speeds could reach 25 mph, and light snow accumulation is possible.

Wednesday will bring a break from precipitation, with sunny skies and a high near 21°F. However, northwest winds will remain strong, reaching 14 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

The rest of the week will see fluctuating temperatures, with highs reaching the low 30s by Thursday. Light snow showers are possible Thursday night into Friday, but precipitation chances remain low. By Saturday, the area will see partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 40s, offering a taste of spring.

Residents should stay updated on changing conditions and use caution on roadways, particularly Tuesday night when mixed precipitation could create hazardous travel.
