Caribou, ME – Snowfall across Maine is expected to taper off tonight, with the storm moving from southwest to northeast.
According to the National Weather Service, snow will end overnight in Caribou and surrounding areas. The snow is forecast to move out by 2 a.m. Wednesday in most parts of northern Maine, with precipitation expected to clear earlier in the southern regions. By Monday, temperatures are set to moderate, potentially reaching the 50s across the state.
The National Weather Service has also warned that another round of precipitation may arrive this weekend, though it is not expected to bring heavy snowfall. In the meantime, residents should prepare for a gradual shift to warmer temperatures, which will help melt the accumulated snow.
Caribou and other northern areas, including Houlton, Millinocket, and Frenchville, will experience temperatures in the 30s tonight, rising steadily through the weekend into the low 50s by Monday. Cities like Bangor and Bar Harbor will see similar increases, with highs in the mid-40s expected by Friday.
Local authorities are urging drivers to remain cautious of icy road conditions in the morning hours.
