Caribou, ME – A snowstorm is expected to spread across Maine today, affecting the region from morning through evening hours. Snow will begin accumulating by midday and continue into Tuesday evening, with the heaviest snow likely in the Central Highlands.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will impact many areas, with the greatest accumulation predicted in the northern parts of the state and along the coast, where rain may mix in. Accumulations of 6 to 8 inches are possible in the Central Highlands, while the rest of the region will see lighter snowfall totals ranging from 2 to 4 inches.

Road conditions will likely deteriorate, especially during the afternoon, as snow intensifies. Drivers should be cautious of slushy and slippery roads. Snowfall is expected to end from south to north by Tuesday night, with clear skies and dry conditions returning Wednesday.

Temperatures will remain chilly, with highs ranging from the low 30s in the north to near 40°F along the coast. The National Weather Service also forecasts warmer weather for Thursday and Friday, with temperatures reaching the low 40s in northern regions.
