Portsmouth, New Hampshire – Snow will continue across coastal Maine and southern New Hampshire through 7 a.m. EST Saturday, with up to 6 inches creating hazardous travel during the evening commute and overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Gray, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for Coastal York County in Maine and Coastal Rockingham, Interior Rockingham and Eastern Hillsborough counties in New Hampshire. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 6 inches are expected.

Road conditions will deteriorate quickly after sunset.

Interstate 95 from Portsmouth to Kittery and Route 101 near Exeter and Manchester may become snow-covered this evening. Snowbands could produce periods of moderate to heavy snowfall, leading to rapid accumulation and reduced visibility.

Visibility may drop sharply in heavier bursts.

Communities including Nashua, Derry, Hampton, Biddeford and Saco should expect slick bridges and untreated secondary roads overnight.

Drivers should slow down, increase following distance and check newengland511.org before traveling.

Snow tapers toward daybreak Saturday, but slick spots may linger into early morning. The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 a.m. EST Saturday.
