Bowdoinham, ME – A 52-year-old Pennsylvania man was killed Sunday afternoon after his vehicle struck multiple trees and caught fire along Interstate 295 in Bowdoinham.

According to the Maine State Police, the crash happened at approximately 4:06 p.m. near mile marker 37 southbound. Multiple reports of a fire in the median prompted emergency crews to respond, where they found a vehicle engulfed in flames off the roadway.

Investigators said the vehicle, driven by Nicholas Disy of Milford, Pennsylvania, was traveling southbound when it left the road and entered the median at a high rate of speed. The car struck several trees before igniting. Disy, the sole occupant, died at the scene.
