Turner, ME – A head-on collision in Turner Tuesday morning claimed the life of a local woman and sent a FedEx driver to the hospital with injuries.

According to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies along with Turner Fire & Rescue responded to the crash at approximately 9:56 a.m. on Auburn Road (Route 4) near SR1 Recreation. Officials said two vehicles were involved in the crash, which resulted in entrapment and a prolonged road closure.

Authorities identified one of the drivers as 28-year-old Jacqueline Langevin of Auburn, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The preliminary investigation indicates Langevin was driving a 2005 Volvo station wagon when she allegedly crossed the centerline and struck a FedEx delivery truck head-on.

The FedEx vehicle was operated by 37-year-old Cory Parent of Auburn, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to deputies. Parent was transported to Central Maine Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators said Auburn Road was shut down for about four and a half hours while crews cleared the scene and collected evidence. Turner Fire & Rescue and the Maine State Police Commercial Enforcement Unit also assisted with the response.

The crash remains under investigation by the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office. Officials have not released additional details about contributing factors.
