Lewiston, ME – A beloved piece of American publishing history is coming to an end. The Farmers’ Almanac, which has guided generations of readers with its blend of weather forecasts, gardening tips, and wit since 1818, has announced that its 2026 edition will be its final release.

According to a statement released November 6 by Farmers’ Almanac Staff, the decision marks “the final chapter of this historical publication.” Editors Sandi Duncan and Peter Geiger expressed gratitude to readers, saying they are “filled with appreciation” for more than two centuries of loyalty and support.

The company confirmed that its website will remain active through December 2025, after which both its online presence and social media accounts will begin to wind down. The 2026 edition will be available through the Farmers’ Almanac website, Amazon, and local retailers.

First published in Maine in 1818, the Farmers’ Almanac became a household staple for its long-range weather predictions, astronomical charts, and practical life advice. For many families, the annual almanac was as familiar as the kitchen calendar—passed from one generation to the next.

The farewell message encouraged readers to “keep watching the weather and awe-inspiring sunrises and sunsets” and to carry on the publication’s tradition of curiosity and connection to nature.
