TWIN FALLS, Idaho – A cold start to the week is ahead for south-central Idaho, where the National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Frost Advisory from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday.
Temperatures in the Western Magic Valley are expected to fall between 33°F and 36°F overnight, leading to widespread frost by daybreak. According to the NWS, the chill could damage or kill unprotected outdoor plants across Twin Falls and surrounding communities.
Residents are urged to cover sensitive vegetation or bring potted plants indoors before midnight. Drivers should also prepare for light frost accumulation on windshields, particularly in low-lying areas and rural roads near Highway 93 and U.S. 30.
The frost will melt quickly after sunrise, with a sunny and seasonable afternoon ahead. Another chilly night may return midweek if clear skies persist.
