Madison, WI – A Madison man was apprehended Wednesday after a nearly two-hour standoff on a stranger’s roof. Patrick T. Bishop, 30, allegedly evaded officers during a traffic stop near McKenna Blvd. and Park Heights Court.
According to the Madison Police Department, Bishop fled to a nearby apartment, climbed onto the roof, and refused to come down for over 90 minutes. Officers eventually talked him down and took him into custody.
The gun in Bishop’s possession had a switch that made it an automatic weapon. Bishop faces multiple charges, including criminal damage to property, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, burglary, eluding, and drug possession with intent to distribute.
