Ennis, MT – The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a High Wind Watch for the Madison River Valley, in effect from Saturday morning through Saturday evening.
Forecasters say south winds of 30 to 40 mph are possible, with gusts reaching up to 60 mph at times. The warning area includes Cameron, Jeffers, Ennis, McAllister, and Norris, where elevated winds could cause blowing debris, property damage, and isolated power outages.
According to the NWS, travel may be hazardous for high-profile vehicles, particularly along U.S. Highway 287 and nearby open roadways.
Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor items such as decorations, trash bins, and patio furniture before winds increase Saturday morning.
Forecasters will continue to monitor developing conditions and may upgrade the watch to a High Wind Warning if confidence in damaging winds increases.
