Investigators said two suspects allegedly attempted to take a firearm from a patron inside the store. During the struggle, a 19-year-old was shot. The suspects reportedly fled the scene with the victim’s firearm. The injured teen was transported by personal vehicle to a local hospital and was discharged later that day, according to medical staff.
On Wednesday, Feb. 19, the Criminal Investigation Division, along with the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, executed a search warrant at a residence on Swan Drive. Authorities took 33-year-old Joshua Hill and 22-year-old Cecret Brejane Bowens into custody.
Bowens was charged with misdemeanor willful obstruction of law enforcement officers and felony tampering with evidence. She was released on bond. Hill was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, felony probation violation and parole violation. His bond was denied.
