Macon, GA – A 20-year-old man was arrested Thursday afternoon following a home invasion along the 3800 block of Riverside Drive, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a 2:08 p.m. emergency call after a resident reported being confronted by an armed man upon returning home from walking his dog. The suspect allegedly brandished a firearm and stole several items, including the victim’s phone, before fleeing the scene on foot. Authorities confirmed the victim was not injured.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was located minutes later by a Criminal Investigations Division investigator near the intersection of Riverside Drive and Northside Drive. Deputies detained the armed man without injury and recovered the stolen items, which were returned to the victim.
The suspect was identified as Ricardo Jamal Martin, 20, of Macon. Martin was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and charged with burglary, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and false imprisonment. He is currently being held without bond.
