Authorities said the incident occurred around 4:39 a.m. on October 13, 2025, near the Roseville Police Department on VFW Memorial Drive. A Roseville officer was seated in his fully marked patrol SUV when a Pontiac G5 allegedly struck it from behind.
According to investigators, the man exited the Pontiac holding a knife and ignored officers’ commands to drop it. Two nearby officers fired their weapons, striking the man. He was taken to a hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
The officer inside the patrol SUV sustained minor injuries, while the two officers who discharged their weapons were unharmed, police said.
