Authorities say Richard Huffman, 39, and Dawn Huffman, 44, were arrested Saturday, November 1, 2025, following an investigation into the attempted murder of Eddie Jawad on October 14.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Richard Huffman faces charges of:

 - Conspiracy to commit embezzlement – agent or trustee $1,000 or more but less than $20,000, a 5-year felony.

Dawn Huffman faces two felony counts, including embezzlement of $100,000 or more, a 20-year felony, and conspiracy to commit embezzlement between $1,000 and $20,000. She was given a $500,000 cash/surety bond with similar GPS restrictions.
A third suspect, Jasan Martin, 32, of Eastpointe, was also charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree premeditated murder.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
