Mount Clemens, MI – Two people were arrested after a large-scale drug operation was uncovered in Mount Clemens, where investigators allegedly found a functioning lab producing counterfeit fentanyl and methamphetamine pills, according to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Enforcement Team (SET), assisted by the Warren Police Department, executed a search warrant November 13 at a residence on Grand Avenue. Inside, detectives allegedly found more than 1,000 pressed fentanyl/methamphetamine pills, 225 grams of Etizolam, approximately 1,300 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, steroids, and two firearms. Police also seized a vehicle and extensive packaging materials.

According to the sheriff’s office, the 52-year-old male suspect allegedly used a false identity to run the operation, sourcing chemicals from overseas to manufacture unregulated substances. A 41-year-old woman was also taken into custody.

Both suspects, from Mount Clemens, are being held at the Macomb County Jail pending arraignment in 41B District Court in Clinton Township. The male suspect faces multiple felony counts, including operating a drug lab, manufacturing controlled substances, and weapons violations. The female suspect faces charges of drug manufacture and possession.

Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said the arrests highlight the department’s dedication to community safety, noting the proximity of the illegal activity to an elementary school.

“Conducting illegal drug activity anywhere is unacceptable, but doing so near an elementary school shows a blatant disregard for the safety of our children,” Wickersham said.
