According to the National Weather Service in Lubbock, Friday will stay calm and sunny with highs near 90 degrees and light south winds. Conditions turn unsettled Saturday evening, with a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms expected after sunset. Storm chances linger into early Sunday with a 30 percent chance of additional showers before skies gradually clear.

The shift could affect evening events and travel on U.S. 84 and I-27, where wet pavement and brief downpours may cause delays. Power outages are also possible if storms strengthen. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items, avoid flooded low-water crossings, and monitor local alerts through the weekend.

By Monday, the weather steadies with sunshine and highs in the upper 80s, though overnight lows remain in the mid-60s.
