Lubbock, TX – A cloudy and stormy Monday night is in store for much of West Texas, with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected to continue through the evening, according to the National Weather Service in Lubbock.

Forecasters say the highest rain chances will occur in the far southwestern Texas Panhandle, where moisture and instability remain elevated. Light showers are possible elsewhere across the region, including Lubbock, Plainview, Childress, and Brownfield.

Temperatures will stay mild but above seasonal averages, with evening lows in the upper 50s to low 60s. Winds will blow lightly from the east-southeast at 5–15 mph.

While severe weather is not expected, residents should be prepared for occasional lightning and brief downpours in spots, especially southwest of Lubbock.

Meteorologists note that conditions will gradually dry out Tuesday, with partly sunny skies and continued warm temperatures.
