Louisville, KY – Kentucky residents are in for a stretch of cool, quiet fall weather through the end of the week, with frost expected in many areas Thursday and Friday mornings, according to the National Weather Service in Louisville.

Forecasters say clear skies and calm winds will allow temperatures to dip into the upper 20s to mid-30s overnight, creating ideal conditions for frost formation. The coldest spots will be in rural and low-lying areas, where widespread frost could develop before sunrise Friday.

Daytime highs will remain seasonably cool, ranging from the upper 50s to mid-60s, with plenty of sunshine through Saturday. Clouds will increase late Saturday into Sunday as the next system approaches, bringing a chance of rain showers by Sunday afternoon.

The National Weather Service advises residents to cover or bring in sensitive plants and outdoor items ahead of the frosty mornings. Warmer air and unsettled weather are expected to return early next week.
