Louisville, KY – Another damp day is shaping up across central Kentucky and southern Indiana as rain showers continue to expand from west to east. The National Weather Service in Louisville reports that multiple rounds of rain will continue today through Friday night, with a few thunderstorms possible Friday.
Clouds and drizzle hang on this morning, keeping highs in the low-to-mid 50s across much of the region. Areas including Louisville, Lexington, Frankfort, Madison, and Campbellsville will see increasing rain chances through the afternoon, with coverage reaching 70–90% tonight. Overnight lows fall into the 40s to near 50 degrees.
On Friday, temperatures rise into the 60s and low 70s, but showers and storms will remain widespread. Forecasters say heavier pockets of rain are possible, contributing to between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of total rainfall through Saturday morning.
Conditions gradually improve Saturday as rain tapers off, with highs in the 50s and 60s and drier weather expected to build in through the afternoon.
