Louisville, KY – A Freeze Warning is in effect for southern Indiana and much of central Kentucky early Friday morning, as temperatures are expected to fall into the upper 20s to mid-30s, according to the National Weather Service in Louisville.
Forecasters say Friday morning will be the coldest of the week, with widespread frost likely before sunrise. Sensitive plants and vegetation could be damaged if left unprotected. Residents are urged to cover plants or bring them indoors overnight.
Daytime highs will recover into the low to mid-60s Friday and Saturday under mostly sunny skies. A gradual warming trend will continue into Sunday, when highs may reach the upper 60s ahead of a slight chance for light showers.
The NWS notes that this frost and freeze event marks the season’s first widespread cold snap, signaling the arrival of late October chill across the Ohio Valley.
