Louisville, KY – The National Weather Service offices in Louisville, Jackson, and Paducah have issued Dense Fog Advisories covering nearly all of Kentucky, along with parts of southern Indiana, southeast Missouri, and western Tennessee, through 9–10 a.m. Saturday morning.
According to meteorologists, visibility has dropped to a quarter mile or less in many areas, particularly along river valleys, rural highways, and interstates including I-64, I-65, I-75, and the Western Kentucky Parkway. Cities such as Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, Paducah, Somerset, and Morehead are all under advisories.
The fog developed overnight as calm winds and high humidity allowed moisture to settle near the surface—classic early November valley fog conditions.
Drivers are strongly urged to slow down, use headlights, and maintain extra distance from other vehicles. Conditions are expected to improve gradually by mid-morning as the fog lifts with daylight and warming temperatures.
This widespread fog event extends beyond Kentucky into portions of southern Indiana and northern Tennessee, where similar low visibility is being reported.
