Louisville, Ky. – A stretch of summer-like heat will continue across Kentucky through Saturday, with highs climbing into the lower 90s before storm chances return by Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, temperatures Friday and Saturday will stay between 87 and 93 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Humidity levels will rise, but dry conditions are expected to hold through the weekend’s first half.
By Sunday, scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible, with a 40 percent chance of rain developing in the afternoon and evening. Highs will still reach the upper 80s, but increased cloud cover may bring some relief. Areas around Lexington, Bowling Green, and Louisville could see brief downpours, lightning, and slick road conditions during late-day storms.
Drivers are encouraged to stay weather-aware on Sunday as wet pavement could lead to slower travel. Outdoor plans Saturday will be safe, but Sunday events may need backup options if storms arrive.
The warm and unsettled pattern may continue into early next week, with additional rain chances possible by Monday.
